Bylaws of the KPD Israeli Club (aka KPD)
(January 7, 2009)
ARTICLE I - Membership
1. Membership in good standing (or bona fide member) is defined in the Constitution and Bylaws as a full time Drexel
undergraduate who attends at least four KPD sponsored meetings and events: including one Club meeting, one Hillel
shabbat service, one JRA food distribution, and one Israeli event.
ARTICLE II - Officers
1. The President and the Vice President should be chosen with the view that one of them will be onboard (in school)
while the other is on vacation or in industry (co-op).
2. Officers are expected to attend all meetings and all events of the Club.
3. Officers are expected to be role models illuminating the mission of the Club.

Duties of the President :
1. The President shall schedule all meetings, reserve rooms, and broadcast all meetings, forums, workshops, and
events of the Club.
2. The President shall organize and officiate over all meetings. The President may appoint a Parlimentarian to assist.
3. The President shall appoint/dismiss all Committee Chairpersons.
4. The President, in conjunction with the Treasurer, is responsible for obtaining funding from the University, from the
Sponsor, and from other sources.
5. The President shall find a Drexel faculty member to fill the position of Faculty Advisor should there be a vacancy.
6. The President shall rule on all issues not covered in the Constitution or in the Bylaws.
Duties of the Vice President :
1. The Vice President shall assist the President in fulfilling his duties.
2. The Vice President shall fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the President in the event that the President is
temporarily unable to fulfill those commitments.
3. The Vice President shall write the minutes of every meeting of KPD. He/she shall email a copy of the minutes to
the Club Sponsor shortly after each meeting. The minutes should be published on a private section of the KPD
website. Any amendments made to either the Constitution or Bylaws should also be shared with the sponsor.
4. The Vice President is responsible for the "Get Connected" of OCA.
Duties of the Treasurer :
1. The Treasurer shall manage and be responsible for the resources of KPD, financial and otherwise.
2. The Treasure shall handle all expenses of KPD activities and events.
3. The Treasurer shall maintain a record of attendance at every meeting and event of the Club. The Treasurer may
email this record to the Sponsor who can keep a spreadsheet of attendance of each member in the Club. This record
shall be made available to the executive board and advisors, if requested.
4. The Treasurer shall fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the Vice President in the event that the Vice President
is temporarily unable to fulfill those commitments.
ARTICLE III - Elections
1. There shall be an Elections Standing Committee.
2. In order to appear on the ballot a member must be nominated by two other members at least three days prior to
the election by submitting the nominations via email to the Chairperson of the Elections Committee.
3. Elections will be held by anonymous ballot. All members who are present at the meeting in which the election is
held may cast a vote. A majority of votes cast is required for election
ARTICLE IV - Executive Board
ARTICLE V - Committees
1. The Standing Committees should be (1) Elections, (2) Constitution/Bylaws, (3) Membership, (4) Service, and (5)
Israel.Advocacy.
2. Additional Standing Committees may be created or dissolved, as the need arises, by the President and approved
by the Executive Board..
3. Temporary Committees may be formed or dissolved by the President.
4. The Chairpersons of all Committees shall be appointed by the President.
ARTICLE VI - Meetings
1. Regular meetings should take place at 7 PM on the Thursday of the third week of each month during the school
year, except when the President deems a meeting to be unnecessary..
2. Members shall attend all meetings; the President may excuse an absence upon the advice of the Membership
Committee.
3. Regular meetings should last no longer than 1-1/2 hours and shall last no longer than 2 hours, not counting social
time.
4. In the case of special circumstances the President, in conjunction with the Vice President, may schedule special
meetings or change the dates or times of regular meetings.
5. Members shall be notified by the President of the location and time of all meetings via Facebook at least three
days prior to the date and time of the meeting.
6. Status of KPD Reports should be given by the Officers of KPD and by the Chairpersons of Standing Committees at
the regular annular meeting in May..
ARTICLE VII - Service
1. KPD shall provide service to JRA, the Jewish Relief Agency of Philadelphia.
ARTICLE VIII - Ratification of Bylaws
1. Adoption of the Bylaws shall be voted each school year at the third meeting.
2. The intent to adopt the Bylaws should be announced by the President at the second meeting.
3. Adoption of the Bylaws shall require a majority vote of those voting..
ARTICLE IX - General
1. Meetings of KPD should be conducted according to Roberts Rules of Order, Newly Revised;

2. Parliamentary procedures should be learned as a leadership skill.
ARTICLE X - Amendments to Bylaws
1. A proposed change to the Bylaws may be submitted by one officer or by two members. The proposal should be in
writing to the Chairperson of the Bylaws Committee and should be received at least one month before it may be
voted on.
2. Amendments to the Bylaws shall be approved by a majority of those voting.
3. Proposed amendments should be added to the KPD website.
4. The revised Bylaws should be shown on the KPD website.
ARTICLE XI - Israel Advocacy
1. There shall be a Standing Committee for Israel Advocacy.
2. KPD shall not hold rallies for or against City, State, or Federal candidates running for elective office.
